Happy New Year to all of you!
I am planning my shows for the zoo's annual event of "Frozentoesen." I sit here amidst an ice storm, again in Toledo. (I am doing my version of "THE MITTEN.") I was at the zoo yesterday and marvel at the ice sculptures created with chisel and saw.
Last week I was warm and comfy doing a show at the Winter Legacies event at the Toledo Museum of Art. It was great weather and a crowd was on hand for the show, "Jack and the Sky Place." It is awesome to perform in the Great Gallery among famous paintings!
This week begins the series of Theater at Olander Park in Sylvania. We begin with paper mache puppets and every two weeks add to scenery, puppets, script, props and sound effects. We are creating a play based on the origins of the park and specifically the large pond located there. Obtaining dirt and fill for the major highway (23 and 475) they hit an underwater stream. Birds played an important role in converting this land from farmland to the beauty it is today with water life, trees, plants and a variety of fish.
